U.S. President Donald Trump and the U.S. coronavirus task force are expected to provide their daily update on the COVID-19 crisis in America this afternoon.
On Saturday, Trump warned that country could be headed into its “toughest” weeks yet as the coronavirus death toll mounts, but at the same time he expressed growing impatience with social distancing guidelines.
He also addressed the controversy with medical supply firm 3M, stating that the administration was “very disappointed” in the company and that “they should be taking care of” the U.S. during the COVID-19 pandemic. On Friday, 3M said Trump asked the company to stop selling N95 respirators to other countries and prioritize shipping medical supplies to the U.S.
As of April 5, the number of people infected in the U.S. has exceeded 300,000, with the death toll climbing past 8,400.
